Why Dhanteras Is Considered an Auspicious Day for New Purchases?
Dhanteras, also known as Dhantrayodashi, holds special significance in India. It is not just auspicious for Hindus but for the whole nation with people who also believe in Hindu traditions and are willing to avail incredible deals on Dhanteras. The festival honors Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Kubera, and Lord Dhanvantari, the deity associated with health and Ayurveda.
According to Hindu mythology, Lord Dhanvantari emerged during Samudra Manthan carrying a pot of Amrit, symbolizing health and well-being.
This association with prosperity and wellness is why many families purchase valuable items and prepare their homes for the upcoming Diwali celebrations during Dhanteras. Even the markets are booming with incredible offers on prized commodities like gold, silver, utensils, furniture, etc.
If you are wondering what is auspicious to buy on Dhanteras, then traditional choices include gold, silver, and metal utensils. Many people also explore brass items for Dhanteras, such as diyas, puja accessories, decorative vessels and premium furniture options.
